Well it has been a real long time since I have posted anything on my blog. I have been visiting all the blogs that I follow and tried to keep hold on everyone. I had a real rough winter with a huge depresion and I was hoping for a good summer, but we had rain for six weeks........wich wasn't any fun at all. I have spend most of my time reorganizing my home, in the hope that it will help us to keep things organized easier but most of all because my son has ADD and has real trouble keeping order. Everything has his own place know and most of it is labeled so he can easily find things and knows where he has to put it back. This way we save a lot of bad energy in arguments. With all this in mind I figured out a plan together with my two kids and we made a list of all of the things we wanted to change, then we figured out how and made a plan for it. We wanted our home easy to clean up, it is small and in the winter we spend a lot of time inside, so we need space for the kids to play and have fun, and we like to have friends over for diner, so we needed space for that to. One of the major problems of our home was our kitchen, it was small, had no storage space or working area and it was impossible two be in there with more then one person. We had to change the kitchen, that was for sure, so I made a layout of what would be the kitchen that I wanted and then went in search of the materials. I bought the kitchen cabinets second hand and saved a lot of money, but we also needed the plumbing and electrics changed, and new tiles, paint and floor.

Getting the old kitchen out and the new one all finished in took us two weeks. And know we love to in it, we cook together and enjoy our new paradise. I wil post some pictures below.

As you see it was a major job! I am know cooking where the sink used to be, and the fridge is where I used to cook.

Right know we are working on our office/laundy room/scraproom/lego space all this in one room. Our challenge to find balance and space for our family and keep some storage space as well.

Our son's bedroom is to small to play so I made space for him, I had to take out some shelving units to create floor space for him and now am looking for a way to save the things we want to save. I cleaned up lots of things and it was a lot of memories to go through. But we are getting there.

We also are gonna change the wall paper in our bedroom and we will be getting some extra drawer space for our clothes.

The main struggle we have is our budget, which is non. I am selling stuff that we don't need any more to be able to buy the things we really need.

We bought some plastic drawers to save the lego's and other suplies. I bought a second hand Alex drawer unit from ikea, and now I am in the search of the other ones to hold my table. This way I hope I will be able to store all my scrapbooking supplies under my table.

With all this reorganizing and my new time management I hope to get my live better organized and be able to get some time to create. Just the knowing that you have certain nights or hours at certain day that you know are for you to let go of your creative ideas makes me happy. The winters are long over here and I hope to create a lot.

Well I did create something. I finished a mariposa minialbum and have two more started. Here are the pictures of the one that I have finished.

First home made flowers and an altered spicerek.

I finally found some free time to craft again. After the busy hollidays, my son is finally doing better and my daughter passed her exams. So it looks like craftime is back. I decided to alter a spicerek that was laying around the house. It had this ugly paint on it, so i decided to use some my minds eye paper and some mod podge to give it some color, then i used some distress inkt for the edges and some prima flowers for the final touch. And this is what came out of it.

I also have two big boxes with fabric waiting to be used, so i decided to try to make my own flowers and this is what i made:

She is doing a giveaway over at http://pegapapelotijeras.blogspot.com/ and she asked us to make a top 10 list of scrappin. Wich was tough to do, but i came up with my list, my favorites are:

1. Paper: Love any paper with a distressed and a bit shabby.

2. Glossy accents: use it as glue or to give some accents.

3. My ATG: love it, hard to get some tape but it works great, saving for a pink one.

4. Flowers: love the prima ones but would love to try the i am roses.

5. Metal pieces: love to add some metal to my work, like keys or charms, bookplates etc.

6. Embossing powder & heat gun: for me the go together.

7. Stamps: can't get enough of them.

8. Stazon: perfect if you have to colour them.

9. Glue gun: i use it all the time for my flowers and other things that i really want to stick down.

10. Distress Inkts: love all the colours, use it to stamp, distress and even to colour.

This was my top 10 but i have so much more, my crop a dile, glimmer mist, paper trimmer, big shot, my paint.

I hope it is to some help to who ever might need it.

Teacher gift that my son made!

This is a teacher gift that my eight year old son made for his teachers birthday.

He made the outside from an old box and used some small note paper that he inked up. For the binding he used som rope. For the cover he distressed it all and used the distress ink to make it look grungy, then he placed a Tim Holtz ticket and wrote his teachers name on it. As a final touch he glued a pencil down with som glossy accents. I tink it looks really cute.

My first wedding mini!

I finally did it. For me it was the most difficult mini i made. Somehow it didn't work, but in the end it all came together.

When our friends told us that the where gona get maried i asked them what the would like to have as a gift on there wedding day and the asked me for a wedding mini. I had all these great ideas in my head and felt all excited. But then i asked them what the had in mind, the wanted it chunky just like my haloween one, well that's whas no problem either. But then they told me the theme color of the wedding was hot pink. So I wanted an album full with pockets booklets and spaces to write and put photos. So the search for paper started, I tried to get the DCWV Be Mine collection but did not get it. Then after a long search I found some little yellow bicycle papers from the love letters collection and some papers from papermania the confetti stack. As a base I had a Bo bunny album in black and two acrylic pages for the front and back. Then I lost it all, I had the papers and the album but couldn’t figure out how I wanted it, it just didn’t work. All the ideas I had where for a complete different album wich wouldn’t be how they would like it to be.
But on the last Sunday before the wedding I told myself I had to do it that day so I sat down at my table and just played around and after my 3^rd coffee it all came, I worked on different pages at the time and almost finished it that that day. The rest I finished on Wednesday, the day before the wedding. I wish I had some prima’s and some pearls swirls to use, but could not find them, and the ones that I did find were so expensive I couldn’t afford them. The same about the ribbons, I would have loved to use the ones that look like flowers with the pearls but could not get them, so I made it with what I had and this is what I made. The loved it…..
But I was really scared to give it, what if they hadn’t like it…..and somehow it became like a part of me.

Last night we had the monthly beach crop wich we love and this month we had the 1 year aniversary so we had an international party. We had lots of fun with all our friends from all over the world. We had a great time with Kathryn on ustream and my two kids participated aswell. Alex won one of the giveaways and boy was he happy. They both where with me in my scraproom and worked on the challenges. I took some pictures so that you can see them working it was allready eleven at night and the where really tired, but had there work in progress. Alex didn't make all the way through till midnight but Alicia did. They where both in there pj's and all ready to go to bed when they get tired. I an so proud of them.

Thank you Kathryn for giving us such a great place to be, and thanks to all the great ladies overt there......

We are back from Sardegna......and we already miss it !!!!

As most of you already know we went to Isola di sant antioco for three weeks and we had a great time. In our eyes it is just a piece of paradise. There are just a few tourist and most of the time you have the beach allmost for yourself. We are a family that loves the sea so this is perfect for us. The people are realy friendly and the food and weather are great. There is so much to see besides the great beaches, there is a lot of history and great places to go to.

Yeah....!!!! Alex is 8 years old!!!! One o f his wishes was to receive packages from outside the netherlands, and thanks to some great ladies from the beach his wish came true.

This morning my son woke me up and gave me this handmade gift, a small plate that he decorated at school for teabags.

Then my daughter gave me this beautifull tag she has made with a card and some earings that she made. I love my presents.

Well I know it has been a while and lots of things have happend. Just a quick update for my followers and friends.

My son got his first swimming diploma and is know going for his second.

My mom lives actualy in a town about 15 minutes away from us and she got the keys from her new place in our town, just a few blocks from our home. So we have been busy, putting everything in boxes and working at her new home. Well all the painting has been done and we have been working everynight for the last wee to put the new wallpapers up and organizing everything. Today we will be doing the last walls and then it will be waiting for the floor to come. She will be moving next saterday.

My son (in the middle of this) had his shool musical and did really great (will post a pic of him later) he played a hotel director and had a leading rol.

This all happened while we all had a real bad stomach flue.

I also received my mariposakit that i won at the scrapbeach and received my swap kit but i will be doing a post about that. So as you can see I have been really busy, I even missed the monthly crop.

I hope to have some time to do some scrapping next week, as I have several projects to finisch.

Last satarday my mom came over and she brought me a box full of butons. the other day while we were talking I told her that I was looking for old butons and she said that she had this old box full of them so gues what they found a new owner and I love them. I scrapped two canvases with pictures of my children. It was the first time a made a canvas an I think they turned out great. She was really thrilled about it….

Today it’s mothers day. And I got this great present, a PINK BIG BITE……
It came with lot’s of grommets in all kind a colors and shapes. Can’t wait to start using them.

Today my son has his birthday and yes he is now 7 years old. Time goes so fast, he is growing up so quickly. Today we had the party for the family and next week we will have a kids pirate party.
We had a beautiful day and the weather was great so we all sat in the garden and had a great time.

Today we went shopping at Paper and Pictures my favorite scrap store. I went with to good friends and my ten year old daughter. It’s about 45 minutes away from my home, but worth it. They have so much paper and embellishments that we are always short on time. I bought a chocolate brown edgy album from Bo Bunny, some pink chips from Pebbles, a wooden tag box from Kaiser craft and some book bind rings in soft pink as you can see on the above picture.

My daughter also bought some great stuff and had some of it as a present. She makes her own jewelry. And she had made some for my friends, instead of paying her for it she chose some embellishments and a album. She got this great wing shaped album from Maya Road, Some butterflies, rub-ons , ribbon, paper, paint, flowers and a bag of brown chips from Pebbles.

My friends also bougt some great stuff and we all went home with some great stuff.

Well like I told you yesterday today we went shopping at Ikea and we had lots of fun. We started with having breakfast and then we went shopping. I bought a lot boxes for my scrap corner.
And after a good lunch we went home. Just after we got home the kids arrived from school. We had something t o drink in the garden and the kids where playing and having lots of fun.
After dinner I just could not wait to fold all my boxes, and I can’t wait to put all of my stuff in and reorganize everything. I’ll put some pictures on my blog when it’s finished.

Well it has been a while after I wrote the last time. For the Christmas holidays we stayed at home and celebrated with just our family and my mother. It was the first Christmas without my grandmother. We all really missed her.
This winter was really cold and we had a lot of snow and ice. The kids went ice skating almost everyday. Even after the holiday they went skating with school. It was great to see all the kids having so much fun, all those happy faces.
Then school started again, and everyone is busy again, work, school, swimming lessons, school projects….. and now spring is all ready here. The first flowers are showing there faces, and the kids can play out side in the sun. We are really looking forward to the summer, and hopefully we have a good one.
Within a few days we will have some free days and I will be doing some scrapbooking with my daughter, she is ten years old and already just as crazy for scrapbooking as I am.
At the moment I am reorganizing my scrap corner, and as you can guess I have to little space for all my stuff. But tomorrow I will be going to Ikea with to friends and we will be shopping for some new boxes. So I can reorganize it this weekend. One thing is for sure we will be having lots of fun, starting of with a good breakfast

Today we all got up real early, and it was a good thing we did. All the streets where covered with ice. We had to walk to get to school if you can called it that. There where accidents all over town and you could see a lot of people falling. We went just bit by bit and we came in a bit late just like almost everyone. Alicia was really worried this afternoon she would have her birthday party with her friend and she was afraid that the might not be coming. But at 12,30 the first one arrived and the rest came just a few minutes later. It was a great party, first the had lunch and went to play a little with the snow. In mean time we had prepared the table and when the came back they painted their own dishes with special paint. They had a great time and we had cake and presents to. The had a great time. But most important of all Alicia had a great time…..

What a day…. We got up early this morning because as usually Alex had his swimming lesson at 8,45 in the morning. When we got up and looked out of the window everything was white, it had been snowing and it was as if there was this huge white blanket that had fallen down the sky. We got dressed and when we where going through the street with my bike you could here nothing but the snow cracking underneath my wheels. When he had finished his swimming lesson we rushed home for a coffee and some breakfast. After that we dressed real warm and went to the harbor because to day is a big day for all the kids Sinterklaas is arriving in town. We made it in time, and Alex stood right in front . He was so happy. Alicia looks at it different know, but she got together with her friends and had a great time. After his arrival and Alex had said hello to him we rushed back to the swimming pool, because Alicia had to swim for her B certificate. And she passed. She did great. In just 3 months she got her A and B certificate. We’re so proud of her. After she had finished we went home and Alex gave her a present. That night we all went to bed early and with a huge smile.

Yes our little girl just is 10 years old. She is still our little girl but she is getting big now, she’s growing to fast. I can still remember the day she was born like it was yesterday. Look at her now so big, she is doing well at school and is friends with everyone. We can’t complain, I feel so lucky to be her mother.
